Danksagung

Wir freuen uns, das wir das Austauschprojekt unter den Namen „Projekt X“ vom Kunstverein 64 e.V. und „Outbreeding System“ vom Artforum Rhee realisieren konnten und gemeinsam diese Kulturveranstaltung im Herzen Berlins unter dem Motto Freundschaft, Frieden und Freiheit durchführen konnten.
Unser besonderer Dank gilt den koreanischen Künstlern (Myung-rae Park, Ik-kyun Shin, Neung-jae Rhee und Bi-ho Ryu) die keine Zeit und Mühe gescheut haben, die weite Reise von Korea nach Deutschland anzutreten, um uns mit ihren Werken zu inspirieren und uns mit diesem kulturellen Austauschprojekt zu bereichern. Gleichzeitig möchten wir, zusammen mit den Künstlern, unsere tiefe Anteilnahme mit den Opfern und Angehörigen des Schiffsunglücks der MV Sewol im April 2014 in Korea, bei dem mehr als 295 Menschen (die meisten davon Kinder) ums Leben gekommen sind, zum Ausdruck bringen.

Zuletzt wünsche ich Direktor Hoon-hee Lee und dem Art Forum Rhee, dass sie weiter ihrer Leidenschaft und ihren Visionen für die Kunst widmen und das freundschaftliche Verhältnis zwischen Korea und Deutschland erhalten und vertiefen können.

Wir danken auch dem Team der Gallery 2 (der Kuratorin Isabella Devinast und dem Leiter Michael Picconatto) für die gute Kooperation und intensive Zusammenarbeit. 감사의 글 | 쿤스트페어라인64 대표 이 광
아트 포럼 리의 „ 이종 교배“ 와 쿤스트페어라인 64의 „ 프로젝트 X“의 각기 다른 이름 아래„ 우정. 평화. 자유“ 라는 모토아래 한국과 독일의 문화교류를 추구하는 공동프로젝트로 오늘날 국제 예술의 메카로 떠오르는 베를린에서 선보이게 되어 대단히 기쁩니다. 사진 작가 박명래, 설치 작가 신익균, 회화작가 이능재 그리고 비디오 작가 유비호 는 자신들의 작업을 통해 우리에게 영감을 선사하고 문화교류를 통한 소통의 장을 마련하기 위해 한국에서 독일까지 먼 여정과 수고를 마다 않고 오셨습니다. 작가들은 이 번 전시 „코리아 방주“에 2014년 세월호 사고에 대한 작가들의 고심 그리고 소외 받고 고통받는 이들의 편에 서서 예술가적 책임의식에서 우러난 위로를 전달하고자 합니다. 작가들과 더불어 세월호의 희생자와 유가족에게 진심으로 깊은 애도를 표하는 바입니다. 전시를 위해 안밖으로 애쓴 이훈희 대표와 아트 포럼 리의 열정과 비젼이 예술을 통한 국제평화에 기여하고, 한국과 독일의 돈독한 우정 관계를 더욱 깊이하고 지속할 수 있길 바랍니다. 갤러리2의 큐레이터 이자벨라 데비나스트와 대표 마이클 피코나토, 재정적 도움을 주신 후원인 디포그의 김창홍 사장님, 후원 기관들, 쿤스트페어라인 64의 카트린 라인하르트와 조희진 그리고 아트포럼리의 이주연 큐레이터, 박혜미 큐레이터 그리고 이재영님께 감사드립니다.

Purpose of Project

1. Korean Ark is an exhibition reflecting the restlessness towards limits in political, social and cognitive changes in South Korea which has been lasted ever since the division of the North and the South after the Korean War. After the Liberation from the apanese Colonialism, 2 totally different state systems (a socialist regime in the North and a liberal democratic one in the South) were established separately in the Korean peninsula. Particularly, South Korea has focused on economic development and strengthening of military forces in competition with the North, to reconstruct the state system which was wrecked after the Korean War, however it has achieved industrialisation, informatisation and globalisation under the unstable domestic and international political circumstances.
2. Unlike the rapid economic growth, the South Korean society especially lacks respect for life and consideration for others, both of which are essential for healthy sustainability of the society. It is true that the traditional Korean society is based on the ideology of Confucian loyalty and piety. Bu due to invasion of the Great Powers in early 20th century and the following policy of Japanese Colonialism to destroy the traditional culture, as well as lack of understanding of traditional culture and over-concentration on economic development after the Korean War, South Korea failed to reconstruct the society based on humanism.
3. In the state where there is no room for the people to be hopeful, the attitude required to artists is not pursuit of external growth and demonstration effect, but preparing and initiating little movements and hopes to induce internal changes of human beings. The organiser and the participating artists of this exhibition are the generation which has naturally obtained the political, economic and social system of the South Korea generated by the economic growth led by their parents’ generation. They defy the authoritarianism imposing feudal hierarchy or forced sacrifice, deeply rooted in the unconsciousness of the Koreans.
4. To seek the ways to overcome the present, Korean Ark shall sail on forwards while showing its condolences to those who have imposed concession and sacrifice, expressing its respect to the life and labour which have been and still is sustaining the society, and pray to the natural spirits indewelling in mountains, lands and rivers. Even if our sailing shall be a bit insecure…

[코리안 방주]
1.코리안 방주(Korean Ark)는 한국전쟁이후 분단된 상황에서 진행되어오고 있는 남한의 정치적, 사회적, 인식적 변화의 한계에 대한 불안감이 반영된 전 시이다. Korea 는 해방이후 이념 노선이 첨예하게 다른 두 국가 체제(북한은 사회주의, 남한은 자유민주주의)를 각각 구축해왔다. 특히 남한은 한국전쟁후 폐허가 된 국가시스템을 재건하고자 때때로 이념적으로 대립하고 있는 북한과 경쟁하며, 군사력 증강과 경제 성장에 집중해오곤 하였으나, 불안한 국내 외 정치적 상황에서 산업화, 정보화, 세계화를 이끌어내었다.
2. 이러한 성장과 다르게, 남한사회는 사회를 건강하게 지탱해 나갈 수 있는 생명에 대한 존중과 상대에 대한 배려가 유난히 미약한 상태이다. 전통적으로 한국사회는 충효사상에 입각한 유교문화가 사회저변에 자리잡고 있었던 것은 사실이나, 20 세기 초 열강의 침략과 함께 찾아온 식민지 시대의 문화말살 정책과 한국전쟁 이후 전통문화에 대한 이해부족과 경제정책에 대한 과도한 관심이 인본(人本)을 중심으로 구축돼야 할 사회를 만들지 못한 한계를 지니고 있다.
3. 희망 가능한 영역이 상실된 국가에서 예술가로서 취해야 할 태도는 외연적 성장과 전시적 효과를 위한 것이 아닌, 인간의 내적변화를 만들어 내기 위한 작은 움직임, 바램 등으로 이를 준비해 나가야 할 것이다. 이 전시를 기획한 기획자와 참여작가는 한국분단 이후 폐허된 땅에 희생으로 경제성장을 이끈 아버지 세대 이후, 남한의 정치, 경제, 사회 시스템에서 자연스럽게 문화를 체득하며 성장한 세대이다. 이들은 한국사회의 깊은 무의식에 자리하고 있는 봉건적 위계질서와 강압적 희생을 요구하는 권위주의적 통념을 부정한다.
4. 코리안 방주(Korean Ark)는 현재를 극복해 나가기 위한 방법을 모색하기 위하여, 양보와 희생을 강요당했던 이들을 애도하고, 사회를 지속적으로 유지하고 지탱하고 있는 노동의 생명에 존경을 표하며, 역사 이전부터 존재해왔던, 산,들,강 등에 깃든 자연의 혼령에 염원을 담아 지속적으로 나아갈 것이다. 비록 불안하게 나아갈지라도.

우리의 슬프지만 위대한 기억을 담은 동영상으로 2017년 새해 인사를 드립니다.

작년 2016년 한국에서 오신 아트포럼리의 기획팀과 4명의 작가들과 함께 베를린에서 전시 코리안 방주를 보여드릴 수 있었기에 대단히 기쁘게 생각합니다. 전시 코리안 방주는 2014년 4월 16일 304명의 희생자를 낸 세월호 사고로 부터 잉태된, 현재 한국 사회의 내재된 우울과 극복의 의지를 보여준 시대적 사명을 띤 역사적인 전시라고 할 수 있습니다.

한국과 독일의 지역적 거리와 문화적인 차이에도 불구하고 양국은 분단과 평화라는 거대한 이해의 틀안에서 가장 가까운 친구이며 서로를 이해할 수있는 배경을 공유하는 운명을 갖고 있습니다. 현재 한국 사회는 외적으로는 남북분단의 문제와 내적으로는 민중이 부패권력과 대립하는 시련을 겪고 있습니다.

앞으로도 쿤스트페어라인 64는독일과 한국의 문화적 교류와 예술을 통한 양국의 우정과 이해의 증진에 기여하며, 여러분의 열려있는 귀와 눈과 입이되어 다양한 전시와 활동들로 더욱 가까이 다가 가겠습니다.

여러분들을 위해 예술가들의 평화을 위한 목소리를 대변하는 노고를 아끼지 않을 것 입니다.

세월호 유가족에게 진심으로 깊은 애도를 표하며, 유가족들의 진실 규명을 위한 거국적인 요구에 적극 동참하는 바입니다.

Wir wünschen euch sehr herzlich ein frohes neues Jahr 2017! Als erste Tätigkeit sende ich euch ein trauriges, aber auch großartiges Video.

Wir haben uns sehr gefreut, dass wir die Ausstellung „Korean Ark“ 2016 in Berlin mit dem Team des Artforum Rhee aus Südkorea und seinen 4 Künstlern zeigen konnten. Die Ausstellung bezieht sich auf eine Katastrophe mit 304 Opfern. Am 16.4.2016 sank die Fähre Sewol ins südkoreanische Meer. Die Ausstellung gibt die wahre Stimmung der koreanischen Bevölkerung wieder. Sie zeigt Depression, aber auch den Willen, die aktuellen Probleme zu überwinden.

Korea und Deutschland sind enge Freunde und haben Gemeinsamkeiten, was ihre Teilung, Vereinigung und Frieden angeht, obwohl die örtliche Distanz und die kulturellen Unterschiede groß sind. Die beiden Länder besitzen ein gemeinsames Schicksal und haben Verständnis für den Hintergrund der Schwierigkeiten des jeweils anderen Landes. Heute kämpft die südkoreanische Bevölkerung gegen ihre korrupte Regierung und dadurch auch für die Wiedervereinigung.

Kunstverein 64 widmet sich weiter für die Freundschaft aus zu bauen zwischen Deutschland und Korea durch die Vermittlung in der Kultur und Kunst, wir bleiben geöffneten Ohr , Auge und Mund werden Ihnen noch mit den unterschiedliche Kulturellen Program annähen.

Zuletzt abscheuern wir keine Mühe mit den Künstlern als Repräsentative Rolle, die Friedliche Meinung äußern für Sie.

Herzlichem Beileid an die Angehörigen und die Opfern und wir unterstützen die Forderung der Aufklärung in den zahlreichen Demonstranten.
