The Comfort Women; Sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army during the war.

This project intends that the Comfort Women issue could be reconsidered and visualized in art.

2015 is the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. This project focuses on establishing a platform for communication through art. This long-term project, entitled the ‘Daughter of the War’, will help to build society’s awareness of Comfort Women who forced into sexual slavery during World War II. Peace and anti-war spirituals are established in core by aiming at transforming historical crucial memories into contemporary art with Eastern and Western countries.

Participating Countries: 12 Countries – Asian and European countries would be main participants including Germany, China, Japan, North Korea and South Korea and east European countries such as Poland and Romania

올해 2015년은 제 2차 세계대전 종전 70주년이다. 이 ‘전쟁의 딸’ 프로젝트는 예술을 통하여 자유로이 소통할 수 있는 플랫폼을 만들고 과거를 극복하여 화해와 공존을 바라며 기획되었다. 제 2차 세계대전 기간 동안 강제적으로 성적 행위를 강요 받았던 위안부 여성들을 예술 작품을 통하여 국제사회에 공시화하고 평화와 화합, 반전의 메시지를 담아 동서양의 컨템포러리 미술 교류의 장을 펼치고자 한다.

참여 국가 : 아시아와 유럽의 12개 국가 – 독일, 중국, 일본, 남한, 북한 폴란드, 루마니아 등
